Glen Daum

Glen Daum has been active as a composer, arranger and producer in New York for the past twenty-five years, having written music for such varied television shows as ABC World News Tonight, CNN Headline News, General Hospital and Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers. He has written music for hundreds of commercials and his arrangements have been played by ensembles ranging from the Count Basie Orchestra to the Boston Pops. His credits include arrangements for concert and recording artists such as Denyce Graves, Sumi Jo, Ann Hampton Callaway, Philip Chaffin and Tina Lear and his work on three CDs by Broadway actor-singer Mandy Patinkin for Nonesuch Records has received notable critical acclaim. His thematic settings for cable's vintage film channel Turner Classic Movies are heard by millions every day. A five-time Emmy nominee, Daum has won the coveted award twice in the past three years for his work on Sesame Street, the acclaimed children's television show, for whom he has been a composer for the past seven years. Prior to moving to New York, Daum was the Director of Jazz Studies and a member of the theory-composition faculty at The University of Texas at Austin. He was educated at Southern Illinois University and the Eastman School of Music and earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stanford University. In addition to arranging a piece, Mr Daum shared the conducting on "Bone-A Fide Brass" a new CD with soloist Joesph Alessi of the New York Philharmonic and Imperial Brass.
