Ian Kerr-Mace

2019-2020 Mark Freeh Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Ian Kerr-Mace holds degrees in theory and performance from the University at Buffalo and Schenectady County Community College and has studied with Mike Meidenbauer and Jonathan Lombardo. An active freelancer in the Tri-State area for a decade, Ian’s highlights include performances with the Schenectady Symphony, Erie County Wind Ensemble, and Glove City Winds, and he currently holds the Principal Euphonium Chair with the Capital Region Wind Ensemble. Prior to completing his degree at the University at Buffalo, Ian worked as a member of the fundraising and marketing staff at the Albany (NY) Symphony Orchestra. He is an active member of the League of American Orchestras, Chamber Music America, and the American Federation of Musicians (Local 52, Albany NY and Local 802, Greater NYC Area). Ian is currently in the MM Performance program at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and is a student of Aaron VanderWeele.
