Lee Anderson

Lee Anderson is Imperial Brass’ Bass Trombone and has been with the band since March 2019. Lee also deputizes for the band on tuba when needed.

Lee studied Music Performance at the University of Massachusetts and Queens College and is a professional freelance musician / low brass specialist. That currently includes teaching all brass instruments at Music and Arts in Livingston, NJ.

Lee has performed as a part of several ensembles over the years at venues like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Rose Bowl Parade, and the Musikverein. He is also a Bass Trombonist for the New Jersey Wind Symphony, Principal Trombonist for the Livingston Symphony Orchestra, and Tuba for the Tappan Zee Bridgemen.

Lee’s hobbies include gaming, cooking, baking, carpentry, maritime research, Rubik’s cubing, puzzle solving, reading, and just a little of everything so as to keep him out of too much trouble.

Lee’s described his favorite Imperial Brass moment as the Mark Freeh concert in June of 2019. It was an honor not just to work with so many alumni members but also so many big names in the world of brass band and brass playing like Torgny Hanson, Joe Alessi, Phil Smith, Warren Vaché, and also to be playing a lot of challenging and rewarding music.
